APPARATUS INFORMATION:
1961 SABCO/Ford F-600 Brush Rig, Azusa, Los Angeles County, California. This rig information is from the Illustrated Encyclopedia of American Fire Engine Manufactures by Walter M.P. McCall pg. 217.
Brush engine that had a 300 GPM pump, 400 gallon water tank, split rear end transmission, original hose 1,000 ft of 1 1/2 inch hose and 1,200 ft of cotton jacket hose including the real line. Two hard suctions for drafting if need be. Short 2 1/2 suction for soft suction. Later on, crews modified the hose load to include 600 ft of 2 1/2 hose, which allowed them to lay from a fire hydrant. The Captain and Engineer would ride in the cab and two firemen assigned would ride on the tail board.
